Congratulations to the UF Concrete Canoe team for their top 5 finish at the 2008 National Concrete Canoe Competition in Montreal.
UF hosted the 2008 National Student Steel Bridge Competition on May 23th and 24th, 2008. The UF team placed second overall.
We are very proud of the team members who helped make UF successful at this year's ASCE Conference. Our team's success is a result of the hard work and dedication of our students and faculty and the generosity of our sponsors. Your contributions laid the groundwork for this year's achievement, and we hope we can count on your support next year.
The Regional Conference has grown to be our student chapter's biggest endeavor. Each student works hard throughout the year preparing for this annual event. While conference is the most popular activity that we participate in, it is also the most expensive. Our costs include the extra money needed for each of our 11 teams (60-70 students) to complete their design and fabrication, registration fees, hotel accommodations, and travel expenses. This year our goal is to win, and we wouldn't be able to accomplish our goals without the generous donations, help, and support from the professional engineering community and you. Please pass this letter on to your company so that others may have the chance to support Gator Civil Engineering.
For your help and support of GATOR CIVIL ENGINEERING, we would like to offer you something in return. When you help to sponsor the Gators in their quest to win yet again, there are several things that we will do as part of our appreciation. If you decide to sponsor our teams, your name and company website will appear on a special conference sponsors page, accessible to the hundred of engineers, professors, students, friends, and parents what will access our conference home page. In addition, you will receive a conference T-shirt and a copy of the special conference edition of our newsletter, The Blueprint.
We appreciate your support of the University of Florida Student Chapter of ASCE. We look forward to making our conference experience memorable for you. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments regarding the 2003 Conference. Once again, thank you for helping establish a winning tradition at the University of Florida.
